Her book "Hidden Tales Well Told" was a seven-year project of information and stories of the Broadwater County area which she felt should be published for people to enjoy. The book was published in 2011.  In 2019 Harla gifted the copyright and publication rights to the Broadwater County Museum.

Harla and her husband Bill continued to live in Radersburg  where she was active in her writing and community projects, her Church and vegetable/flower gardens.

Harla and Bill moved to Manhattan, MT due to medical issues.  Harla passed away in 2021 and is sorely missed in the Radersburg and Townsend communities.
