Goldpans, Guns and Grit: Diamond City
Goldpans, Guns & Grit by Kelly Flynn and Mike Collins
Kelly Flynn was a Rancher, Teacher, State Legislator and Author. Kelly's family has deep ties to Confederate Gulch and the legendary Diamond City. Diamond City was Montana hottest and brightest gold town in the mid 1860s. Kelly and Mike did extensive research over a 15 year span to write this compelling story of Diamond City.
From the book dust cover:
Miners found gold in Conferate Gulch in 1864, and Diamond City, Montana Territory leaped to life that winter. Quickly it exploded into the territory's third largest boom town, and for a while the richest. Limited by its narrow gulch, Diamond City grew one street wide but more than a mile long.
Today you couldn't find its location on most maps, even historical ones.
